Randburg Tennis Club (RTC) is located in the peaceful and scenic suburb of Blairgowrie, Randburg, on Susman Avenue, in the northern part of Johannesburg, South Africa. The club offers a relaxed, friendly environment where tennis enthusiasts of all levels can meet, play, and socialize.
Affiliated with the Gauteng Tennis Association, RTC has a membership of approximately 75 adults and juniors and participates in league events throughout the year.
Founded in the 1960s, RTC was the first official tennis club in the Randburg area. Its first club championships were held in 1967, and it has remained an active, well-supported hub for the local tennis community ever since. Today, the courts are regularly used by members, Advantage Tennis, and IR Griffith Primary School.
The club features six tennis courts, all equipped with floodlights for evening play, as well as a practice wall. A comfortable clubhouse with a well-stocked bar provides a welcoming space for players, families, and friends to unwind.
Court Hire:
Non-members are welcome to rent courts for a fee. Vouchers must be purchased in advance – available from the coaches during the week or from a committee member on Saturday afternoons.
Social Tennis:
Social tennis is held on Saturday afternoons from around 14:00 and is played as doubles/mixed doubles. While visitors are welcome, a certain level of play is expected – this is not suitable for beginners. A visitor’s levy is payable at the bar upon arrival to help support the maintenance of the club and its facilities.
